Hot on my tongue! I have to taste to see if it needs more of this or that, but it’s oh-so-hot! Since the rice is left-over from dinner and was cooked in chicken stock, I will have to doctor this rice pudding recipe just a smidge…but hey, the recipe does call for a pinch of salt.
Mmmm, a bit of butterscotch pudding powder tones down the salty flavour just right. After a few minutes of cooking and thickening, let’s try again. Sweet and creamy, the rich butterscotch flavour explodes in my mouth as I savor the rice and rub my burnt tongue against the roof of my mouth. The raisins add a chewy texture, just right!
Neat–it’s like a recipe made into a story.

Your description of the flavor exploding in your mouth makes me think i’ve been missing out on a delicious experience! I think you captured the sensory experiences of cooking. You’ve got,the timing, the tastes and in my case, the all too frequent ‘burnt tongue’ experience! I like how you incorporate sight, taste and texture in your description. It made me wonder how you would describe the smell?

Yes, so true. You do have a knack for describing food and cooking well…which is a great focus for blogs–if you see on the wordpress homepage there are always lots of food posts…or maybe a restaurant reviewer?
